The Guncle by Steven Rowley

The Guncle by Steven Rowley

Patrick is a once famous gay sitcom star who’s been hiding out in Palm Springs. He tells himself that he’s just “tired” of LA, but the truth is, since the death of his boyfriend a few years ago, but as of yet, Patrick just hasn’t been able to move forward. And then, another tragedy strikes the family, and Patrick is suddenly in charge of his niece and nephew for the summer. Now what?

This is one of those feel good books that’s at turns happy and sad, but the sadness isn’t overwhelming or overwrought, and a very healthy dose of humor keeps things on the light side. I loved Patrick’s relationship with his niece and nephew – the perfect uncle who’s just making it up as he goes along. Highly recommended!
