About the Plainfield Area Public Library
The Plainfield Area Public Library serves a population of 79,500 in the Village of Plainfield, unincorporated Plainfield Township, and portions of unincorporated Wheatland Township, the Village of Bolingbrook in Wheatland Township and the Village of Romeoville in Plainfield Township.
In Fiscal Year 2021, the Plainfield Area Public Library served the community with:
- 590,011 items checked out
- 30,386 active library cards
- 16,472 attended a program
- 22,815 elementary school students visited by our School Services librarians
- 1,561 Curbside Pickups & 1,283 Grab & Go Locker visits
- 8,022 packets of seeds from our Seed Library given out
