Our Language Learning Clubs are free and open to everybody. These clubs offer an easy and fun way to learn English at your own speed, surrounded by a supportive group of fellow learners.

For the very beginners who are new to English and need extra support with reading, writing, basic vocabulary and basic life skills.

In-person on Mondays
11:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Build confidence speaking English and ask questions about everyday life in the U.S. Practice conversations you would use at a school, store, doctor’s appointment and with neighbors. Learn how to use the Library and the internet.

English for Beginners and Intermediate Learners

English for Beginners and Intermediate Learners

In-Person on Tuesdays at 9:30 AM and 11:00 AM (Beginners)
In-Person on Wednesdays at 9:30 AM and 11:00 AM
 (Intermediate)

English for Beginners classes are geared toward students with limited English experience. Intermediate level classes are for students who already use English in daily tasks but need to keep improving.  Both classes include leveled listening, speaking, reading and writing practice.

Virtual English Club

10:00 to 11:45 AM

Learn and practice English in an informal setting. Read books together, discuss current news or explore other topics. This club is open to all and presented on Zoom. You will need a computer, tablet, or phone to access Zoom.  Visit our Events Calendar to register.

 

Mango Languages

Plainfield Library card required

Continue your language learning at home and on the go with Mango Languages.  This resource includes courses in over 60 languages, many recently expanded, including English Language Learner (ELL) courses.  Lessons are self-paced and available online or using the Mango Languages app (iOS / Android).
