Something’s not quite right in the sleepy little town of Centerville. The animals are acting peculiar. The sun doesn’t seem to want to go down, and according to Hermit Bob (Tom Waits), the moon is releasing “toxic lunar vibrations”. Officer Ronnie Peterson (Adam Driver) is certain that “This is all gonna end badly”, and he’s not wrong, because soon, he and his fellow officers (Bill Murray, Chloe Sevigny) are tasked with battling a zombie horde alongside the town undertaker (Tilda Swinton) who’s very handy with a katana.
Some reviewers have said that there just wasn’t enough action in this movie, or that it’s too slow. I disagree – I think the pacing was pitch perfect, especially given the message the director is trying to get across. It might be low-key in the action and gore department, but it’s a really funny movie with a great cast. If you’re a fan of old school horror movies and horror/comedies, this one is definitely worth making some popcorn!
