The Appeal by Janice Hallett

Reviewed by Lisa K. This modern day epistolary novel is told entirely through emails, texts, and other documents. It’s full of unreliable narrators, all with a connection to a local community theater group and all involved in a massive “appeal” to raise money for medical treatments for a sick child. Throw in a dead body, and you’ve got a “can’t put it down” mystery that will keep you guessing as you try to figure out who is telling the truth…and who is the murderer. I really enjoyed this book (and stayed up way too late to finish it!) and plan on reading more by this author.
