Love and Saffron by Kim Fay

Love and Saffron by Kim Fay

Joan is 27, lives in Los Angeles and is just starting out as a writer for the newspaper food pages. She sends a fan letter, along with a small gift of saffron to 59 year-old Imogen, a writer who writes a monthly column for a Pacific Northwest magazine. This begins their friendship by letter, one that both sustains them through the turbulent times of the 1960’s, and widens their horizons in unexpected ways.

Written in the form of the letters exchanged between Joan and Imogen, it is pure joy to watch as the friendship between the two women grows, and their delight in their adventures and new discoveries is contagious. Both heartwarming and compelling, this little gem of a book deserves the top spot on your TBR list!
