Belmont Academy is an elite private school that prides itself on shaping and molding students into their best selves. Teacher of the Year Teddy Crutcher takes his job very very seriously. He loathes the entitlement and privilege of so many his students and fellow faculty members and feels it is his duty to knock them down a peg or two. Sometimes that involves a little extra homework. Sometimes that involves a little poisoning. After all – it’s for their own good.
But when one of Teddy’s plans goes awry and an unintended person dies, Teddy must figure out how to right the wrong, even if it means more people need to die – after all, it’s for everyone’s own good. Soon the school is the center of hysteria as numerous people become suspects. Meanwhile, a few people are involved in some plots of their own to teach Mr. Crutcher some valuable lessons. Will they be able to expose the Teacher of the Year before it’s too late?
I really liked this book, even though most of the characters are truly awful people. If you like stories of evil manipulation and revenge plots, this is the tale for you. The ending was unexpected and pretty satisfying.
