Wow! Add this book to your TBR pile!
This book was so well written and had me hooked from the first page! It has earned a Caudill nomination and it is well deserved. Yes, it is a Juvenile Fiction but is definitely an All Ages book.
G’ma shows up in a Winnebago, her new sweet ride, and tells Scoob (her grandson) to grab his stuff, they’re going on a little adventure. Scoob has recently gotten into some trouble at school and is on “lockdown” by his dad. G’ma has come at just the right time to spring him from his lockdown.
As the story continues, you learn more about what trouble Scoob has gotten into and why G’ma wants to do this trip now. G’ma and Scoob have a wonderful relationship and it only makes the story more endearing. I am not going to reveal too much more of the story because that was the fun in reading it. Little details come trickling out as you go. I will say this, the story is filled with historical references from 1960’s that play a role in both characters life. Enjoy!
